I strive for my photographic work to always be a reflection of myself....funny, bright, and professional. Each photograph I create is a window into my world through my perspective. As a working commercial photographer, I have a great love for creating imagery within the studio. As a traditionally trained artist, who has a great love for painting, I also like to use my camera as an artistic tool, painting with light. I love using these seemingly opposite skill sets to walk the line where fine art ideals merge with commercial appeal, allowing the viewer to not only be taken in by a striking image but to go beyond and explore deeper concepts. Each image I create usually starts as an idea or sketch, and grows from there. Bold, playful, and clever, I hope people find something they connect with within my work.

About
Midwest based photographer, Maureen S. Kaveney, uses her skills to create unique, fun, and thought provoking imagery. After having earned a BFA from Ball State University in 2007, Maureen went on to earn a second degree in commercial photography at world renowned Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. It was during this time that she honed her skills as a working commercial photographer and where she first discovered a passion of blending fine art ideas with commercial polish. She prides herself on creating clean, bold imagery that is visually pleasing and often goes beyond the surface to have deeper meaning. Maureen’s work has been internationally published and awarded, as well as having work as part of The Kinsey Institute’s permanent collection. She currently lives and works out of Indianapolis, Indiana.
