The phrase 'DO NOT PASS' originates from traffic signs positioned alongside railroad tracks, serving as a crucial warning, especially when a runaway train speeds by.

Contemporary China resembles a runaway high-speed train, leaving my memories and language trailing behind. When others inquire about my hometown and motherland, I am rendered speechless.

Upon my return to my hometown in southeastern China, Fujian, I embarked on a two-hour train journey. This collection of images, spanning from hills to the coast, focuses on the fleeting scenes observed through the train window.

Presented as several pairs of images, they unveil the hidden intermediate zones of Fujian, capturing their essence through temporal dislocation. For me, they fill some of the silent voids.
