During quarantine, I started my self-portrait project about exploring yourself in weird situations and safe places and learning how to use your weapons to overcome this situation. Being confined within four walls gives the feeling of being trapped and that you can't escape. You don't have to be creative and happy; you may accept the reality and stay strong and positive in solidarity with each other. And most importantly, never forget the voice, taste, sound, smell and touch of all the beauties in your life. My photo series is a reminder to reevaluate the necessity of realizing what we do have in our lives. And to remember that some aspects of happiness are a choice.
About My name is Ariadne Fytopoulou, and I live in Athens. I grew up on Corfu island, and I studied History and Philosophy of Science at the University of Athens. I got a certificate in Arts Management course (Central Saint Martins, UAL). During the last six years, I have been working in culture at "Fournos Centre for Digital Art", the first alternative theatre scene in Athens. I am a self-taught photographer, and photography is a part of my everyday life. It is my way to experience the world and express myself with my point of view.
