My pictures shown here are often about human relationships or states. I would like to represent this, however, so that the viewer does not think himself into the individual person or group he could recognize in a picture concrete, but can perceive the mood. A real human face lets us build up very often subconsciously a felt relationship to the recognizable person or group. We feel very quickly sympathies or antipathies with real persons. We simply match with individually stored patterns and thus form an opinion that is shaped by these patterns. Therefore, my figures are not real people but figures, silhouettes or fleeting appearances. Yes, you could say representatives. I want the viewer is put in a mood in which he recognizes or recognizes from himself a situation and this in him own thoughts and ideas released. For him, the pictorial representation as well as the content should open a door to embark on a mental journey. It is very important to me that the viewer has the opportunity after a first curious look in my pictures can always discover new things for themselves.

About
Alexander Buss began working as a freelance commercial photographer after completing his photography studies. It was always important to him to accept photographic challenges and to expand his photographic horizons. In the beginning with darkroom and exposure techniques, today with the possibilities of digital image processing. Digital photography has been an integral part of his work since the 90s. For Alexander, it was already important in his studies to break through his limits in order to create his very own imaginary worlds. For him, it is a special challenge to make the boundaries between photography and painting fluid. He calls himself a digital photo painter. His darkroom experience and his exposure to various printing techniques have helped open up new avenues. Today he works almost exclusively as a freelance artist.
