On walks trough the woods I discovered how beautiful leaves in puddles are, with the reflections in the water etc. I photographed them and thought about a deeper meaning - Life and Death - in general and based on leaves. I came to the conclusion that leaves show our lifespan in a small amount of time. Green = Birth, they grow up and are safe at home (on a tree). They’re falling (need to live on their own). And where they fall gives them the life they have to live. So they’re getting old and die. In this short amount of time it shows how beautiful they are. Then there is death - drowned, rotten, old leaves. And I’ve focused on the drowned leaves. I started photographing on locations, how I found them. But fall doesn’t last long. So later I took some leaves home and arranged a puddle to play with the light and composition.
