I don't seek to succeed in my photographs, in fact, it's quite the opposite: I try by all means not to follow good manners, to disobey, to be inattentive and perhaps even to miss them. Why apply a formula, adjust a few parameters? What's the point of being the operator of the device? Why follow instructions and instructions for use? In a dialogue between experimentation and conceptualization, I propose a heterogeneous corpus of works both in digital and film through which I approach an aesthetic of gesture, gesticulation and circulation, in particular by highlighting photographing bodies and photographed bodies. By dissecting the processes, I open up to more transversality, thus blurring the boundaries between action and image, painting and photography. This gesture allows you to look beyond the shot and reveal behind the scenes of the camera. I work on the materiality of time and space in the photographic image: their interweavings as much as their stratifications. Beyond the photographic act, I also deal with questions of gesture, body and intimacy. Through this approach, I reconsider the model in view of the specificity of the medium to propose numerous rewritings of the subject and invent new ways of representing it.

About
Jérôme Corroller was born in Lorient on October 21, 1991, a Monday. Very early on, he liked to dissect the machines around him: he wanted to understand the mechanisms. But it is silver photography that will very quickly attract his attention. Experimentation is the basis of Jérôme Corroller's work: trial and error as an absolute, failure as an objective. He obtained a Master's degree in artistic creation, research and practices of the art world in 2018. In his research dissertation, "Experimental processes: expression through photographic acts" intertwine theoretical flashes and plastic research. Today involved in several higher schools and teaching at the faculty of Rennes II, he provides lessons around the theory of the image, creation and communication and can thus continue to nourish his reflections around photography while by devoting time and energy to the production of his work.
