The work WIRED is a symbol of the global network, and I make a part of it visible in a virtuoso way. Technically, WIRED is a balancing act between photography and painting. I fuse analogue and digital techniques. The background is painted from different metallic colours like copper and gold. The colour refers to the raw material of the network and the content of the cables; Digital Gold. The foreground is photographed. The wires were printed on the painted background.

Matthias Forster is a Swiss artist. His work is a balancing act between analogue and digital technics. As a hunter and collector, the archive is the starting point for his works. Various techniques from photography and painting are used. As a Photographer, he examines the traces and legacies of modern civilization in public space. The artefacts and findings make visible man's relationship with the environment. He graduated as an architect and completed his photography studies at the Swiss school of journalism.
