I'm a mirror freak. I love everything that is reflected, doubly captured by the mirror and the camera lens. I love double exposures and black and white photos. Five years ago, I started taking self portraits. I like to photograph while travelling, but the pandemic period has taught me that even indoor photos can be an expression of myself. Southern Italy means party, joy, tourists and holidays. During the pandemic in march and the one that has been going on in Italy since October, my boyfriend and I, who is an architect and an urban planner too, went around taking pictures, even though there was no one on the street. We looked for the void even when the situation improved, and at least the restaurants were open. Southern Italy looks so strange without people, and that's why I chose a selection of photos just from the regions close to mine that I know best and that I could reach more easily.

About
My name is Deborah, and I come from the deep south of Italy, in particular from Puglia, but now I'm currently living in Naples. I am 34 years old, and I call myself a flâneuse. What I like to do is eat, wander the world (when possible) with my film camera and write. I have a bachelor's degree in "Oriental Languages" and a master's degree in "Conservation of cultural heritage", both achieved in Naples, an experience as a managerial assistant at the Press Office of the National Library of Naples and a past as a literary critic. In addition, for about a year, I have been collaborating with Scatti di Gusto, a food magazine, for which I write and photograph articles on travel and restaurants, and Casa di Ringhiera, an independent web magazine where I deal with pieces on pop culture, cinema, art and fiction, and my photos too. I started writing as a child, as long as I can remember knowing how to hold a pen in your hand. And immediately after with photography. These are two things that I cannot give up. I have an endless list of articles, half stories and writings scattered everywhere, along with films and photographs. I started shooting digitally and then I went back, preferring analogue photography in recent years: I shoot with a very old Voigtlander that I called Vito, an Olympus OM10, called Yuki, and my beloved Nikon FE2, called Bankù.
