My work draws inspiration from my interest in the observation of nature's ephemeral treasures. To me, capturing these fragments is like having a dialogue with a hidden dimension: in particular, I have always been fascinated by Claude Monet's Nimphéas and water lilies ponds represent to me a world of secret alchemies that I have been exploring for several years.
Influenced by Japanese Wabi-Sabi, my attention is on the transient and imperfect beauty. Hence, my photos are not the result of a 'sharp focus': I go beyond reality by catching the light, which carves natural elements, transforming them into metaphors of a liminal zone. Because of water reflections, the surface becomes a flow, creating patterns and shaping curves in a sort of blue dance. In this series, I have tried to express my emotional relationship with this "floating world", characterised by a sort of rarefaction and nostalgia, as in a dream. This work also shows an evolution from representation to abstraction: thus, I use soft tones and cold colours, I blur and fade shapes to add a surreal quality to the scenes as well as to strengthen the melancholic feeling I perceive and emphasise the dreamlike and ethereal aura of leaves and flowers.
