This series is both a visual experiment of the transformative power of photography and the conquest of new imaginary territory from which emerges a personal mythology. The captured scenes reveal the slow oscillation of shadows longing for light—undulating whispers on the surface of enchanted time. Like a continuous movement of unknown forms to be pieced together, new creatures emerge and transmuted landscapes inspired by sequences inherited from past or imposed histories and the will to give body to the absence. I catch these images walking like an explorer - diagonally under the stars - scrutinizing what slept away from these strange places scattered since childhood. Invisible scars are subjected to a regeneration process, behind the constellation of these hidden paths, the dizziness of rewriting history, time after time. The candour of a fragmented eye thrives and marvels at these unconscious detours that have become conscious experimentation tools.

About
Laure Pubert is a photographer based in Paris. She started as a public international law researcher before devoting herself to photography full-time in 2014, driven by the desire to find her place through her creative work. After studying photography in Strasbourg, she lived several months in Norway tracking an illusion, obsessed with giving soul and life to a novel’s character that haunted her. Today, her approach is guided by exploring the revealed marks or fantasied evidence of a parallel dimension like a deep and distant memory of movement. Her book Je marcherai sur tes traces (I will follow in your tracks) was published by Editions Arnaud Bizalion in June 2018. And her work has been exhibited at Maison de la Photographie Robert Doisneau in France and has been included in group exhibitions and slideshows. Her work is represented in a public collection (Contemporary Art Fund of the City of Gentilly) and in private collections. She is currently in residence at Corpus Fabrique, in the old asylum of the psychiatric hospital of Ville-Évrard in Neuilly-sur-Marne (France). She is represented by Agence Révélateur.
