Light can only be fully appreciated when it is among the darkness. I find this true about life as well as art. The contrast of values, the beauty of the glow against the deep black shadows. It is my aim to convey a sense of hope in dark times, using both literal and conceptual elements. My emotional and spiritual journey is expressed through my photography. In an outlet, I like to call my photographs visual poetry. I prefer to leave my images open to interpretation. I want the viewer to find a connection to the photo - to relate in a way that allows them to feel seen, heard, and understood. We may have different stories, but art can bridge those gaps and provide common ground. Each of us faces times of uncertainty, loss, isolation, etc. Life's bleak seasons feel hopeless without a source of light to illuminate the darkness. There is always hope. There is always light. Never stop seeking it.
