In my work, I always try to translate my emotions into pieces that I can transfer to others, into images that often do not illustrate reality but my own world. I love to work with light, mainly natural light, and use the infinite opportunities that light offers, from unbearable brightness to the darkest shadows. My experimental and abstract works always have their starting point in facts of life that are first artistically dissolved and later put back together into a new shape, sharing only the essence of the initial emotion. When working with people, I also love to extract the heart of their being and paint it with light into what we use to call a portrait. Old masters knew how to capture the light into an artwork to last for over the centuries. They are my greatest inspiration. Despite the bright colours, there is a certain sadness in my work, and I must admit that most of my works were created within moments of melancholy and longing of times gone by.
