Photonic Moments – Month of Photography festival was founded in 2005 as the first international festival of contemporary photography in Southeast Europe and its leading role in the region is kept until today. Since 2010 Photonic Moments is a member of EMOP – European Month of Photography Association which brings together photo festivals from Athens, Berlin, Bratislava, Budapest, Vienna, Luxembourg and Paris. However, Photonic Moments also collaborates with other photo festivals in Europe.Photonic Moments is organised and produced by the team of Photon – Centre for Contemporary Photography, established in 2003 in Ljubljana. The main attention is to promote and present regional artists working in the field of contemporary photography and artists’ moving image. With production and touring of our projects, especially curatorial group exhibitions, we expand our network of artists, partners, curators and institutions in the region of Central and Eastern Europe. In this context the special role goes to Photon Gallery in Vienna, where we are involved in the local scene as a partner of certain events (Eyes On – Photo Month, ViennaPhotoBookFestival, etc.).In addition to managing two galleries and the festival we are involved in some other activities. From its foundation in 2014 we have collaborated with the fair for art photography Photo Art Budapest. And since 2015 we are representing exhibition program of Magnum Agency for Eastern Europe. So, beside best regional photo artists we are presenting the biggest names in the history of photography!
