PHOTOALICANTE will celebrate its VII edition from March 5 to April 5, 2020, with different alternatives that will address photography with 24 exhibitions, 10 urban interventions, conferences, workshops or the realization of the III International Congress of Contemporary Photography (bephoto.org) on the 26th, 27th, 28th and 29th of the month of March coinciding with the closing of the festival.

The title From perception to identity refers to the backbone argument that focuses our festival through different identity perspectives ranging from class, gender or culture to the species. Over the last few years, Photography has become in an ideal place as a meeting and debate space to rethink some relevant themes of contemporary culture such as the creation of identity stories. From this point, in this edition of the festival we want to put the focus of interest in reflecting on these issues to put them in question.

The photographic projects that will build the body of the festival, go through endless aesthetic options and ideologies that form the different realities that the artist manifests today, and are also an example of the context in which he subscribes. Similarly, we are committed to continue building cultural actions from innovation and the development of new creative spaces, to offer quality experiences to all participants involved in the cultural and artistic life of this city.
