Holden Luntz Gallery

Holden Luntz Gallery was founded in 1999 in Palm Beach, Florida, as a pioneering gallery specializing in fine art photography. For decades, the gallery has continued its mission of acquiring and presenting significant photographers whose work has defined or expanded the parameters of the medium. The gallery presents a varied range of work surveying numerous aesthetic photographic processes, including silver gelatin black and white prints, traditional color C prints, dye destruction prints, alternative process photographs, platinum-palladium prints to contemporary sublimated photographs printed on aluminum.

Exhibitions rotate periodically, allowing much of the gallery’s exceptional collection to be showcased. These exhibitions range in scope from modern classic photographers such as Diane Arbus, Brassaï, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Horst P. Horst, André Kertész, Helmut Newton, and Edward Weston to contemporary photographers like Harry Benson, Michael Eastman, Elliott Erwitt, Karen Knorr, Massimo Listri, Garry Fabian Miller, Albert Watson, Stephen Wilkes, and David Yarrow.

Holden Luntz Gallery is a member of both the ADAA (Art Dealers Association of America) and AIPAD (Association of International Photography Art Dealers.)

Holden Luntz is the principal and founder of Holden Luntz Gallery. After graduating with an MFA degree from New York University, he opened his first art gallery in his early twenties, traveling between NYC and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Holden moved to Palm Beach in 1981 to become the director of Irving Galleries, one of the most important galleries in the Southeast, exhibiting master paintings and sculptures. Holden brought a photographic component to the gallery and curated many significant photography exhibitions until he left in 1999 to form his namesake photography-based gallery with his wife and co-founder Jodi Luntz. For the past 40 years, with a broad range of knowledge spanning the medium’s history, from its earliest creators to contemporary trends, Holden has curated, exhibited, acquired, and sold vintage and contemporary photography. Furthermore, Holden Luntz has written extensively, contributing to books, films, and publishing articles on photography, and is a benefactor to various fine art organizations. The gallery founders have continuously helped build photography collections for museums, institutions, and private individuals. With an understanding of photography’s past history and recent exciting developments the Holden Luntz Gallery has now expanded into a team of eight gallery employees and has opened a second gallery to better meet the needs of an ever growing clientele.
