Sergey Osmachkin represents a generation of photographers that has determined the development of artistic photography in Russia since late 1970s. His first retrospective in St.Petersburg includes his works from such cycles as Open Spaces, Still Lifes, Pink Smoke, Songs of Ordinariness, and Yards and Streets of Old Samara.
The title of the exhibition was given by the author's formula: "The Manifestation of Ordinary Things". Ordinary things and everyday subjects that are shown in the exhibition will be shown to the viewer in a new light.
Sergey Osmachkin is known all over the world and participated in international exhibitions more than once. Sergey Osmachkin's photographs are kept in the collections of the National Library of France, the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art, the New Mexico Museum of Art, the Herenside collection at the University of Texas Humanities Research Center, the State Museum and Exhibition Center ROSIZO, the Multimedia Art Museum and the State Museum and Exhibition Center ROSPHOTO.
