Created in 2016 at the Hangar's initiative by Delphine Dumont, PhotoBrussels Festival aims to bring together all the amateurs, players and professionals of contemporary photography for a month. Since 2022, the creation of the ASBL Photo Art et Culture and the setting up of the coordination committee have strengthened the reputation and importance of the festival in Brussels. The PhotoBrussels Festival is an event that gives Brussels its place as a key player on the international photography scene and is part of the European Month of Photography (EMOP), a network of photography festivals in various European cities such as Berlin, Lisbon, Luxembourg, Paris, Vienna and Brussels. The PhotoBrussels Festival welcomes local (Brussels-Capital Region), Belgian and international (neighbouring countries) audiences, as well as photography professionals, collectors and people who enjoy visiting art galleries and cultural centres. The PhotoBrussels Festival is the must-attend event for photography in Brussels. The Festival offers visitors a series of exhibitions in various cultural venues (art galleries, museums, art centres, etc.) in the Belgian capital.
