The Noorderlicht International Photo Festival 2020 starts on Saturday July 4 in the Noorderlicht Studio in Groningen with the exhibition "Tell me,". Sydney Rahimtoola (US, 1993) and Hanane El Ouardani (NL, 1994) were selected for the second edition of the Young Curators mentor program and take a quirky look at this year's festival theme under the guidance of the guest curator and the Noorderlicht team. : Generation Z.

TELL ME,
With their own practice as artists as a starting point, Rahimtoola and El Ouardani curated the exhibition. They want to show the diversity that is often not addressed in the current cultural climate and thus emphasize the importance of living together. The eight artists in "Tell me," therefore come from very different parts of the world and represent diverse spectra of cultural identity. What they share is their flair for telling inclusive stories, which reflect their world of experience. Sometimes the stories collide, then they complement each other. But it is precisely this that shows the richness and diversity of identity issues and shows that the stories of this new generation of creative makers can coexist.
