F-Stop Magazine is an American online photography magazine featuring contemporary photography from established and emerging photographers from around the world. Since 2003, each issue has a theme or an idea that the unites the photographs to create a dynamic dialogue among the artists.
For this collaborative project we have chosen the very current theme of the global lockdown due to the Covid-19 emergency. Our aim is explore the current shared global experience of staying at home for the health and safety of ourselves, our loved ones and our communities.
We are looking for photographers willing to submit single photos and/or projects/portfolios portraying their lockdown experience: a new routine seen from our home’s windows, outside and inside. Deserted streets, closed clubs and shops, checkpoints, people lined up outside supermarkets, faces covered in masks.
The best photos, selected by dotART and F-Stop Magazine founder and editor Christy Karpinski, will become part of F-Stop Magazine Issue #102 – Staying Home Together, a very special number that will be published both online and in paperback deluxe edition. Italian Psychologist Alessio Pellegrini will collaborate in the volume with an article focused in the social and psychological implications of the current lockdown.
The volume will be officially presented at the end of October during Trieste Photo Days2020 festival, in north-eastern Italy.
Covid-19 permitting, a selection of the best pictures could become part of a collective exhibition as part of the Festival’s calendar.
The call is open on dotART’s platform Exhibit Around from April 27th to July 1st, 2020and will it's completely free.
