Based on the Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts’ “Young Portfolio” project, Beginnings, Forever represents the works of historic and emerging artists made before they were the age of 35. Artists establish their unique powers of expression and individuality at an early age. This exciting exhibition allows us to explore those talents through images by influential classic artists, postwar Japanese photographers, and contemporary image makers.
Artists represented in the exhibition include Edward Weston, Brassaï, Robert Frank, William Klein, Yousuf Karsh, Robert Capa, W. Eugene Smith, Lewis Hine, André Kertész, Irving Penn, Shomei Tomatsu, Eikoh Hosoe, Kikuji Kawada, Nobuyoshi Araki, Daido Moriyama, Keizo Kitajima, Ken Kitano, and contemporary photographers from across the globe.
Financial support is provided by the Gardner Bilingual Fund.
