The series celebrates femininity in all aspects, from gentle to powerful, with a surreal narrative that blurs the line between reality and imagination. The photos capture moments of clarity amidst abstract forms, constantly challenging recognition and embodying the paradoxical nature of dreams: vivid yet ephemeral, logical yet surreal. As viewers journey through the collection, they are immersed in a world of shapes and colours, bearing witness to the endless creativity and transformation of the subconscious.

Julia Wimmerlin: "In the ethereal realm of Reverie, I invite you to embark on a journey through the kaleidoscopic landscapes of dreams. Each photograph is a portal into the subconscious, reflecting the fantastical visions that dance at the edges of our slumber.

In this realm of reverie, shapes emerge like elusive whispers, almost tangible but forever just out of reach. The colourful hues weave a tapestry of emotions, drawing upon the vibrant spectrum of the human experience. It celebrates the soft and powerful feminine spirit, entwined with dreams' delicate dance. Surrealism takes the lead, guiding the viewer through a landscape where reality and imagination intertwine seamlessly.

Much like the ephemeral nature of dreams, the series captures moments of clarity within the abstract, only to morph into elusive forms that challenge recognition. The photographs embody the paradoxical essence of dreams — vivid and ephemeral, logical yet surreal. As you navigate this collection, be prepared to witness the delicate interplay of shapes and colours, a visual manifestation of the subconscious mind's endless capacity for creativity and metamorphosis."

About
Julia Wimmerlin is a Ukrainian-born, Swiss-based freelance fine art photographer. After 15 years in international marketing, she changed her career to photography in 2014, becoming a travel and portrait photographer. Julia’s photographic core started to shake in 2021 with the travel ban during COVID-19. It was nearly crushed in 2022 with the beginning of the war in Ukraine. The collapse of her previous world and life brought her to contemporary art photography, which she only started to explore. In search of ways to understand the events around her and her place in them, Julia started working on longer-term research projects.
